Better than nothing - DVD copies

I've ordered from TVDVDWORLD and have been happy with my purchase. Let me explain further before anyone jumps to conclusions. I expected the program would be tapped from television. I expected the quality would be poor and some shows not available, inspite of their claim to have all episodes. I also expected they wouldn't send anything, considering they are basically criminals in offering copyrighted material in the first place.

That being said, I ordered programs that are not available anywhere else. I hadn't seen "Mod Squad" or "Kung Fu: The Legend Continues," in many years. I waited in vain for them to be offered commercially, but it just never happened. That's when I turned to this company.

What I got was just what everyone said. Episodes missing, bad copies, etc. I expected this. But I also got to see the majority of a show not shown on commercial television for decades. I would do it again.

For those who have ordered or thinking of ordering: DO NOT USE A CREDIT CARD. They may try to charge you more than once. I purchased a gift card with only enough money on it to cover the purchase. I fully expected my order would never arrive but it did.

Another rule. Expect crap with some very good episodes thrown in.

And check sites such as Amazon.Com or Timelife to find out if what you're ordering is available by the studios. If you don't see the program on these sites, than consider odering from DVDWorld or the rest of the bogus, criminal sites. Please be aware that you're getting copies of someone sitting by their VCR taping the episodes. The quality is poor because most are coming off old VHS copies. Also it is poor because sometimes people forget to turn the tape on when they're cutting out commercials.

You may even see a few commercials from the eighties. You're never going to get a professional studio copy from these companies even if one is available. "Get Smart" is a perfect example of that. Even though it's available by a major studio, if you order from DVDWOrld or any of the others, you're still going to get the old copy of the VHS tape.

In summary, know what you're getting. Know that DVDWorlds mere action of providing copyrighted material makes them suspect. And order only if you're absolutely desperate to see a long loved show, and have no other resource of seeing it.

Again, expect anything or nothing from all of these types of sites.
